Monster Maker helping children supported by Key

Key Unlocking Futures Business Development Manager Jayne Allison was delighted to meet Leyland Monster Maker Andrea Cross yesterday.

In January, Andrea, a former Seamstress decided to support local charity Key by putting her sewing skills to good use.  Andrea has created 'worry monsters' and dolls to help children supported by Key.

Key provides counselling support to children in schools and works with children affected by domestic abuse.

A Counsellor at Key said, "These worrying monsters are great.  Children can write down their worries and give them to the monster via the zip pocket.  They really do help by carrying children's worries away.  The new dolls are just fab and will really help children struggling to express their thoughts and feelings.  They can help children explore friendships or any issues at school, through play."

Andrea said, 'I am just glad that my work is able to help a local charity, and I'll keep making them as long as they're needed'.

We are very grateful to Andrea for her generous donations and glad she is happy to allow us to show off her fabulous work.
